Coastal Park, home of The Coastal Motorcycle Club, one of our prestigious played host the Round 6 of Make Smoking History Senior State MX Championships yesterday.

This track lived up to it’s gnarly reputation and some riders gotten bitten. Huge crowds of spectators came down and watched all the action unfold!

With most #1 Plates already secured, this did not stop any rider giving their all in the no holds barred racing action throughout the day.

In the Shannons Insurance MX1 Class Michael Mahon rode the wheels off his 450cc powered Yamaha  to take the Overall Win (1, 1, 2) from Dean Porter who finished in second place (4, 2,1) after finishing 4th in the first moto due to a flat tyre.  Charlie Creech rounded out the podium in 3rd (3, 3, 3).

For the Overall Championship -Dean Porter retains his #1 status for 2017, having won his 7th Senior State Title with Michael Mahon (#87) in 2nd and Chris Ruttico (#83) taking 3rd place.  The remaining Top 10 Riders fought very hard and some placings are only separated by one or two points.

For the Motul Oils MX2 Championships, the day belonged to Josh Adams who put the misfortunes of Bunbury behind him and raced his heart out finishing the day with the Overall win (1, 1, 2) with David Birch in 2nd (2, 2, 1). Daniel Pajewski finished in 3rd place (6, 3, 3) after Dylan Sexton crashed heavily in the second moto and did not race again on the day.

The Overall Championship resulted in David Birch winning the #1 Plate from Josh Adams (#208) and young Mitchell Outram (#362) taking 3rd place. Again not many points separated the remainder of the Top 10 Riders.

The Cullys Yamaha Womens Class was again dominated by Jess Moore who took the win for the day from Hannah Bagnall and Lily Kent.  The numbers in this class for this round were down slightly due to some injuries but these ladies still rode their hearts out.

Overall Championship results show Jess Moore retaining her #1 Plate from Hannah Bagnall (#623) in second and Lily Kent (#700) taking 3rd place.

In the Make Smoking History Quad Championships, Chris Bosnakis came back firing on all cylinders after a horrible 5th round to take the overall win on the day from Blake Croonen in second and Shaun Woodhead in 3rd place.

The overall Championship results are the same for the year with Chris Bosnakis taking the #1 Plate from Blake Croonen (#27) and Shaun Woodhead (#7) in 3rd place.

The Make Smoking Veterans also had their final round at the Coastal track and with the Series leader, Rex Brown suffering an injury in the second moto and not returning for the third moto, the day was won by Scott Petrevich.  Kenny Smith and Trevor Unstead rounded out the minor placings.

The Veterans Championship overall results show Trevor Unstead taking the #1 plate, 3 points behind in second place is Rex Brown (#294) and Paul Smithson (#128) taking 3rd spot.

In the MX2 Repecharge the day was won by Nathan Rodgers from Bradley Woodhouse in second place and Connor Pearce in 3rd.

The day was filled with excitement, awesome racing, great atmosphere, good crowds and champagne was sprayed everywhere at the end of the day!!
