The success from last year’s PerthMX 2 Stroke Cup stand-alone championship round has seen the series taken to another new and exciting level in season 2014.

How do make a series successful and continually improve on the professionalism that rivals the bigger Eastern states series?  That’s a secret formula closely guarded by WAMX, yet series spokesperson Alison Norton believes that giving the series a new championship class is part and parcel of giving the riders value for money, and strive to improve the series.

“WAMX is essentially run by a handful of volunteers.  The planning for the new season starts as soon as the current series finishes, we sit down with the various stakeholders and put together a plan for the season ahead.  This year we are very pleased to bring 2 extra rounds which are for the Quad State titles, Junior and Senior and the 2 Stroke Cup Championships, of which we are happy to announce that will again sponsor”.

PerthMX’s Jeff Howell is once again delighted to support motocross in WA.  “This initiative from WAMX was a no brainer for us and PerthMX to support the two stroke cup this season.  Last year at AJS as a stand-alone round, the nostrils were burning and ears ringing from the 2 strokes, and the resurgence of the two bangers takes us all back to an era where we learnt to ride. It will be an even playing ground with a round a piece on hard packed and on sand, it will have something for everyone.  The feedback has been overwhelming, the riders love it, and the spectators are right behind the class.  We look forward to the two round series and see who will take the cup in 2014.

The inaugural 2013 2 Stroke Cup Championship was won by Louis Calvin (1-1-2) but Calvin was pushed all day by Paul Humberston who finished second (2-2-1) with Brody Fewster (3-3-4) picking up third position in the championship.  Wade Shepherd, Anthony Hicks and Daniel Guy were sensational in the top five across the three motos at AJS.

Round 1 for the 2 Stroke Championships will be held at Byford 20th July and the 2nd Round will be held at Bunbury 17th August. These two rounds include Quad Championship classes of Womens, Vets & Junior Quads as well as the other Quad classes and also other 2 wheel classes.
