Next Sunday, June 21st round three of the Make Smoking History WAMX Senior State Championships marks the halfway point of the 2015 championship season.

Two very interesting rounds as far as the points chase is concerned, on the demanding sand tracks before the hard packed surface of host Club Lightweight Motorcycle Club’s Hendley Park venue on the southern outskirts of Perth.

With plenty of local racing leading up to this event, the contenders and bench mark riders of the previous two rounds will be out to capitalise, and this round also introduces the opening round of the Womens State Championships.

Women

Sixteen ladies will look to a title chase in their opening round with defending champion Courtney Hirst a non starter and former champ Jess Moore on overseas racing commitments. This opens up a massive opportunity to secure maximum points at round 1. Chelsea Blakers has tasted success in this class taking out the 2011 championship, yet Hannah Bagnall, Hannah Lovett and Leeha Worthington are ready to take charge! Lana Woodhead enters the series as a senior with Charlie Blee, Tahlia Lang and Jodie Maxwell looking for a sucessful day.

MX1

The MX1 class has dished out plenty to the riders, and Dean Porter has the red plate as the series leader by 20 points over Robbo Lovett and third placed defending champ Kyle Webster. It is a race for recovery for Webster who is determined to be fit to compete after a nasty injury sustained at Manjimup, which may just throw his title defence into doubt.

Despite not as much bike time as he would like, Louis Calvin holds down fourth in the championship with Paul Humberston in fifth. Mitch Taylor has been in red hot form of late with Stevie Heilers and Charlie Creech looking for consistency, and the two young chargers of Connor Tierney and Liam Whisler building on previous results heading into the third round.

1 DEAN PORTER 193
2 ROBERT LOVETT 173
3 KYLE WEBSTER 170
