The first Make Smoking History WAMX Junior State Round was run and won, as over 200 Junior riders converged from right across the state to Esperance. The Easter long weekend is a double header with Juniors on Saturday and Seniors on Sunday, and the juniors were brilliant today in their first hit out for Championships points.

The 50cc Auto class was one of the largest gate of riders and it belonged to Kayden Minear (1-1-1) who took the top step of the box from Seth Clark and Taj Moore. Jake Rumens collected a strong result with Tate Paganini and Deacon Paice.

The 65cc class were joined yet scored separately and in the 7-10 Years Tyler Soloman took the overall round win as a result of his (2-1-1) scorecard with Jake Harvey second and Kayden Minear third. The older age group 10-12 Years had Cody Chittick the round winner despite some tough opposite from Myles Gilmore who picked up second and Liam Atkinson third for the day. The two age groups put on some great racing when combined with Seth Manuel, Kaj Radcliffe and Bailey Smith having some exciting racing with Seth Clark, Harrison Tapper and Cobey Brown.

The 85/150ccc 12-16 was won by Regan Duffy (1-1-2) with Mitchell Outram secnd (2-2-1) and Corben Weinert securing the third step with a trifecta of third plcaes for the day, Jacob Daniels, Jai Gimenez, Sm Stephen and Sean Heard were in the thick of the action with Rhys Burnett and Christian Silvestro.

In the 9-under 12 class the racing was red hot, and a successful pre season proved to be the winning formula for Liam Atkinson (1-1-1) taking the round win from Cody Chittick and Seth Manuel. Jake Minear and Myles Gilmore were the top five with Evan Browne and Jordan Johnson.

100/125cc 13-15 years Caleb Grothues was untouchable taking the win (1-1-1) with Mitch Outram second (2-3-2) with Mat Fabry third. Fabry took a nasty tumble in the last moto which affected his results as he sliced his way through the field from last to finish in fifth place. Austin Ridley, Billy Middleton, Kurt Oinn and Kai Stephen were notable standouts.

100/125 cc 15 Years, the older age group was taken out by Justin Hart (1-1-1) with Tom West (2-2-2) and Dale Doutch (3-4-3) picking up the remaining podium step. Jonathon Hartley, Ryder Smith, Cody Heggs and Kurtis Bickerton were in the top ten with Justin Walker, Dylan Hennessey and Zac Keast.

128-150cc/250cc class was dominated by Caleb Grothues. Grothues was able to take a clean sweep (1-1-1) with Justin Hart second (2-2-2) and Mat Fabry third (3-3-3). Jonathon Hartley, Jake Woods, Dale Doutch, Cory Perkin, Kai Stephen, Justin Walker and Kurtis Bickerton made up the top ten, and some valuable championship points heading into round two only just over a month away at Collie.
